Cathy B. has a wealth of work experience in the thermal engineering field. Cathy began their career in 1987 as a Graduate Student at Lincoln Laboratory, where they researched the flow patterns in a vertical vapor phase epitaxy system used for III-IV materials crystal growth. In 1991, they became a Process Engineer at IBM, where they worked on many activities in the multi-chip module assembly process. Cathy then moved to Kendall Square Research in 1993 as a Thermal Engineer, where they analyzed disk storage drawers for increased drive capacity. In 1994, they became a Thermal Engineer at Wakefield Engineering (now Wakefield-Vette), where they were a heat sink analyst and designer. Cathy then moved to InFocus Corporation in 1998 as a Thermal Engineer, where they incorporated thermal design into product design process. In 2002, they became a Consultant at Biber Thermal Design, where they worked on thermal, ventilation, and cooling aspects of a wide range of systems. In 2003, they also became an Assistant Professor at Portland State University, where they taught thermodynamics and fluid mechanics. Finally, in 2021, they became a Principal Thermal Engineer at Yotta Energy.
Cathy B. holds a PhD and a BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
