YELLS (Youth Empowerment through Learning, Leading, and Serving, Inc.) is an innovative, place-based non-profit that empowers youth to rise as servant-leaders who uplift their community. We envision communities where youth have voice and value and ensure they possess the leadership skills, confidence, character, and collaborative networks needed to shape their world.

Through our Mentoring Program (3rd-5th grade mentees; 9th-12th peer mentors), Afterschool Program (K-5th grade), and Community Action Café Teen Program, YELLS serves as a community hub and center for servant-leadership in our students’ own Franklin Gateway neighborhood.  By providing youth with marketable skills, support, and the opportunity to rise as leaders, we inspire them to invest in themselves, in their education, and in their community. YELLS is an incubator for youth leaders and a forum for individual and collective voice and action.  Our programs work across generations to garner results for the whole child, whole family, and whole community.  With this holistic approach, we work to engage all stakeholders to achieve shared success and uplift their neighborhood.
