Rafael Oelmann Pérez

Rafael Oelmann Pérez has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and disciplines.

Rafael is currently working as a Cloud Software Engineer at YouView TV Limited, where they started in October 2022.

Prior to this, they served as a Junior Infrastructure Engineer at Rapha from July 2021 to November 2022. In this role, they were responsible for provisioning and maintaining tech infrastructure. Rafael worked on key projects such as Rapha x Palace collaboration and the transition to a new ecommerce platform. Their skills included provisioning infrastructure, DevOps, and middleware.

Before joining Rapha, Rafael attended Makers, a software engineer bootcamp, from October 2020 to July 2021.

Rafael also has experience at Airbnb as a Community Organizer (EMEA) from May 2019 to May 2020. In this role, they ensured Airbnb's positive impact on communities and launched their first Eco-Hosting initiatives.

From February 2018 to May 2019, they worked as a Programme Officer / Data & Systems Manager at Inspire! Education Business Partnership. Here, they managed and delivered corporate social responsibility programs and worked with clients such as HSBC, KPMG, and UBS.

Rafael also served as a Caseworker & Community Organizer for a Member of Parliament from April 2014 to July 2017. Rafael organized political campaigns and worked closely with stakeholders to address local issues.

In 2013, they managed a luxury boutique hotel, Casa Colvale, in Goa, India. As a Hotel Manager, they oversaw day-to-day operations, managed events, and handled budgets.

Finally, they began their career as a Sales and Marketing Intern at PRIME MEDIA INTERNATIONAL, where they focused on over the phone B2B sales and advertising packages in the Spanish and Latin American market.

Overall, Rafael has gained experience in cloud software engineering, infrastructure engineering, software development, community organizing, project management, and sales and marketing.

Rafael Oelmann Pérez has a Bachelor's degree in International Relations and Affairs from the University of Surrey. Rafael also completed an Erasmus program in International Relations and Affairs at Københavns Universitet - University of Copenhagen. Additionally, they hold a Master's degree in International Politics from SOAS University of London. In terms of additional certifications, Rafael obtained a certificate in Working Safely from the IOSH Managing Safely Course in April 2018.
