Katherine Gokavi-Whaley

Katherine Gokavi-Whaley has a wealth of experience in the food industry. Katherine began their career in 2005 as the Development Director and Owner of Urban Burger, where they developed the brand, concept and franchise model. From there, they moved to Liberty Catering Concepts in 2010, where they served as Group General Manager and Operations Manager. In 2013, they became General Manager of National Operations for SecondBite, a role which focused on helping people eat better. Katherine then moved to Aussie Farmers Direct in 2016 as Group General Manager Export, where they developed the client pipeline and managed the end to end delivery of phase 1 within the first 18 months. In 2015, they became CEO of Spade and Barrow, a subsidiary of Aussie Farmers Direct, where they reviewed the existing B2B business and developed a plan to either make it profitable or recommend a divestment plan. In 2018, they became CEO of Feed Appeal, where they helped to fight hunger in communities. Most recently, in 2021, they joined Yume Food Australia as Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), where they helped to eliminate food waste and maximize returns.

Katherine Gokavi-Whaley graduated from The University of Western Australia in 1995 with a Double Major in Clinical Psychology.
