Jim Massey

Jim Massey joined Zai Lab in September 2021 as Chief Sustainability Officer.

As Chief Sustainability Officer, Mr. Massey is responsible for enterprise sustainability strategy and implementation.

Mr. Massey is one of the world’s leading ESG/Sustainability practitioners. He has developed and directed groundbreaking programs ranging from the industry-leading Healthy Heart Africa, which addresses healthcare infrastructure and access in sub-Saharan Africa, to Ambition Zero Carbon, one of the boldest environmental programs in the world. Mr. Massey is a longtime advocate and builder of diverse and inclusive organizational cultures that deliver results for customers, employees, supply chains, communities, and investors. He is a recognized thought leader in Sustainability, Diversity & Inclusion and was named one of Compliance Week Magazine’s Top Minds in 2019.

Prior to joining Zai Lab, he served as Vice President, Global Sustainability at AstraZeneca (AZ) where he built the company’s first sustainability program, Lead with Health.

Mr. Massey holds a Master of Science degree in Organizational Development from Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration (Marketing) from the University of Missouri.
