Jamie Coyne

R&d Senior Research Engineer at Zap Energy

Jamie Coyne is a seasoned engineering professional with extensive experience in research and development, specializing in electromechanical systems and project management. Currently serving as R&D Senior Research Engineer at Zap Energy since June 2021, Jamie previously contributed to the University of Washington College of Engineering as an Engineering Research Technologist. Notable past roles include Senior Technical Project Manager at Compatible Technology International, where Jamie led initiatives for wind- and solar-powered microgrid systems in Africa and India, and Research Mechanical Engineer at the Space Sciences and Engineering Centers, focused on innovative systems for extreme environments. Earlier experience includes mechanical engineering for the IceCube Neutrino Observatory in Antarctica and various positions within the fields of biomedical engineering and field maintenance in polar settings. Jamie earned dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Biological Systems Engineering and Physical Geography from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
