Thomas Hughes

Thomas Hughes has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades. Thomas started their career at Eli Lilly and Company, where they worked in QA and Pack Development from 1979 to 1990. Thomas then moved on to Allied Domecq (Lyons Tetley), where they held technical and operations management roles from 1990 to 1995. Hughes then joined Northern Foods as a plant operations manager at Panificio Bakery for a year before transitioning to Procter & Gamble in 1996.

During their time at Procter & Gamble, Hughes held various roles, including engineering manager, plant manager in China, plant manager in Italy, and global business development. These roles allowed him to gain expertise in areas such as manufacturing excellence, lean thinking, TPM, and P&G Integrated Work System (IWS). Thomas was recognized for their contributions, receiving the President's award for a turnaround program in Duracell Wrexham facility.

In 2020, Hughes became the managing director of 3CLConsulting, where they provided consulting, training, and advisory services on operations excellence and continuous improvement systems. Thomas worked with large household name companies and leveraged their expertise in the P&G Integrated Work System (IWS).

Currently, Hughes is working at Zaptic as the Global Head - Operational Excellence, Smart Digital solutions. Thomas specializes in operational excellence, leadership and change management, and empowering employees.

Thomas Hughes has a strong educational background in the field of science. Thomas started their education journey in 1979 at Liverpool John Moores University, where they pursued a Higher National Diploma in Applied Biology, completing it in 1982. Following that, Thomas went on to earn a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Applied Biology from the same institution, a four-year program that they completed in 1986. Thomas continued their studies at Liverpool John Moores University and obtained a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Analytical Chemistry, which they pursued from 1987 to 1990.
