Michael Coates

Michael Coates has extensive experience in diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) roles. Michael is currently the Head of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at Zelis, where they are responsible for leading and implementing the organization's DEIB strategy and initiatives. Prior to this, they served as the Head of Impact Partnerships & CFO at Black Girl Ventures and the Head of Diversity Equity and Inclusion & Impact Partnerships at PACE Runs. Michael also has previous experience as a Manager at Mitchell & Titus, LLP.

Michael Coates has a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Management from Hofstra University, where they attended from 2002 to 2007. Michael also holds a Master of Science degree in Accounting from Southern Polytechnic State University. In addition, they have completed Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Certificate programs at Cornell University and the Yale School of Management.
