Jacob Mortensen has a diverse work experience that spans from 2011 to present. Jacob began their career as a Web Developer and Research Assistant at Brigham Young University in 2011. In 2012, they traveled to Jordan to work as a Professional Evaluator for the Ministry of Social Development. In 2013, they became the Lead Web Developer for Crystal Block, where they created a social enterprise focused on supporting communities through local commerce and education. From 2014 to 2016, they were a Graduate Student at Brigham Young University. From 2016 to 2020, they were a PhD Candidate at Simon Fraser University. Jacob also worked as an Analyst for the Sacramento Kings from 2017 to 2020. In 2020, they joined Zelus Analytics as a Senior Data Scientist.
Jacob Mortensen obtained their Bachelor's Degree in Statistics from Brigham Young University in 2014. Jacob then completed their Master's Degree in Statistics at Brigham Young University in 2016. In 2020, they obtained their PhD in Statistics from Simon Fraser University and was certified in the same field.
