Yagmur Yuksel has worked in a variety of roles since 2016. In 2016, they were a Research Coordinator & Counselor for the Honors Summer Math Camp at Texas State University. In 2017, they were an Intern at the Harris County Department of Education. In 2019, they were an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the Yale Department of Economics, where they used QGIS and R to clean and collapse a large spatial dataset of water rights sales in the Owens Valley, ran regressions and performed residual analyses to determine the externalities of one sale on neighboring landowners, and reported findings in reports with summary statistics, regression tables, residual and Hazard plots, and maps. In 2020, they were a Fellow at the Tobin Center for Economic Policy at Yale University, where they coded an expectation-maximization algorithm in R to characterize how socioemotional and cognitive skills affect job search behavior, placement, and earnings, and analyzed data with 12 million observations using Stata to explain trends in the impact of postsecondary degrees on the gender earnings gap for birth cohorts between 1930 and 1990. Currently, they are a Data Scientist at Zelus Analytics.
