Daniel Sugarman

CEO at Zentail

Daniel Sugarman is the current CEO at Zentail. Prior to this, they were a research assistant at Stony Brook University from September 2010 to September 2011. There, they researched Computer Graphics and Virtual Reality under the tutelage of Arie Kaufman. Daniel also contributed to research on a Natural User Interface for 3D visualization environments. In addition, they worked on developing a new version of stereoscopic vision using colored filters.

Before working at Stony Brook University, Sugarman was a consultant at Omnicom Consulting Group from June 2009 to September 2009. There, they consulted primarily with the Bureau of Economic Analysis, a subdivision of the Department of Commerce. Daniel developed new aggregation code in SQL that produces economic information about the United States.

Sugarman was also a research assistant at the University of Maryland from September 2008 to January 2010. There, they wrote Perl scripts along with C++ code to manipulate large data sets of DNA sequences of environments of bacteria. Daniel also worked on developing a new method of combining linked DNA sequences to improve binning accuracy in Metagenomics.

Daniel Sugarman's educational career includes a PhD in Computer Science from Stony Brook University, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Mathematics from the University of Maryland. Daniel also attended the Y Combinator startup accelerator.
