Chrystal U Louis, MD, MPH has a diverse work experience in the pharmaceutical and medical field. Chrystal U is currently the SVP of Clinical Development at Zentalis Pharmaceuticals since December 2022. Prior to that, they were a member of the Boardroom Ready 2022 Cohort at Women In Bio - Engage. Before joining Zentalis Pharmaceuticals, Dr. Louis worked at CRISPR Therapeutics as the Vice President and Head of Medical Affairs from July 2020 to December 2022. Chrystal U also served as the Executive Director of US Medical Affairs for Myeloid Diseases at Bristol Myers Squibb from 2019 to 2020.

Dr. Louis has an extensive academic background as well. Chrystal U held the position of Assistant Professor at Baylor College of Medicine from September 2007 to September 2019, and prior to that, they worked as a Clinical Instructor from June 2007 to June 2008.

Earlier in their career, Dr. Louis held various roles at Celgene, including Executive Director of US Medical Affairs for Myeloid Diseases and Oncology, and Executive Director of US Medical Affairs for GI Oncology. Chrystal U worked at Celgene from 2016 to 2019.

Dr. Louis also has experience at Merrimack Pharmaceuticals, where they served as a Team Leader in the Discovery Division from January 2016 to October 2016. Chrystal U also worked as a Medical Director in the Discovery Division from 2014 to January 2016.

Chrystal U Louis, MD, MPH completed their Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Government and Bachelor of Science in Chemistry at Southwestern University from 1993 to 1997. Chrystal U then attended Tulane University School of Medicine, graduating in 2001 with a Doctor of Medicine degree. During this time, they also earned a Master of Public Health degree with a specialization in Health Systems Management from Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine. From 2001 to 2004, they completed their Pediatrics Residency Program at the University of California, Davis. Finally, from 2004 to 2007, they pursued their Pediatric Hematology and Oncology Fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine.
