Martin Rowbottom

Martin Rowbottom has extensive work experience in the field of medicinal chemistry. Martin is currently the Vice President of Medicinal Chemistry at Zentalis Pharmaceuticals since July 2023. Prior to this, they held various roles at Gossamer Bio, including Vice President and Head of Chemistry from September 2021 to July 2023, Executive Director and Head of Chemistry in July 2021, Executive Director of Medicinal Chemistry from September 2020 to July 2021, and Senior Director of Medicinal Chemistry from January 2018 to August 2020. Before joining Gossamer Bio, Mr. Rowbottom worked at PharmAkea Therapeutics as a Senior Director of Medicinal Chemistry from December 2013 to January 2018. Additionally, they have experience at Ambit Biosciences as an Associate Director, Group Leader, and Senior Research Scientist in Medicinal Chemistry from January 2007 to December 2013. Prior to that, they worked at Neurocrine Biosciences as a Principal Scientist, Senior Scientist, and Scientist in Medicinal Chemistry from May 2000 to January 2007. Martin started their career at AstraZeneca as a Scientist in Medicinal Chemistry in 1994.

Martin Rowbottom obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from the University of Liverpool from 1992 to 1996. Martin then pursued a PhD in Synthetic Organic Chemistry at the University of Bristol from 1996 to 1999.
