Rob O'Flaherty has a diverse work experience in the field of education. Starting in 2016, they worked at Success Academy Charter Schools, where they held various roles including Science Assistant Principal, Middle School Science Content Lead/Labsite Teacher, STEM Teacher, Science Lead, and Associate Science Teacher. In 2017, they also worked as an Education Specialist at Stony Brook University. Currently, since June 2021, Rob is serving as the Associate Director of Science & Z Lab at Zeta Charter Schools.
Rob O'Flaherty has a Bachelor's Degree in Earth and Space Sciences from Stony Brook University. Rob went on to obtain a Master's Degree in Education/Teaching of Individuals in Elementary Special Education Programs from Hunter College. Rob later pursued a Master of Science in Education (MSEd) with a focus on Middle School Science Education at The City College of New York. In 2024, they received a Certificate in School Management and Leadership from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. Additionally, Rob has obtained several professional certifications, including ELA MS Summit from Amplify, and Professional Certificates in Earth Science (5-9), Childhood Education (Grades 1-6), and Students with Disabilities (Grades 1-6) from the New York State Education Department. Rob also completed a course titled "The Dynamic Earth: A Course for Educators" on Coursera in 2017.
