David Arbel has extensive work experience in the shipping and logistics industry. David started their career at ZIM Integrated Shipping Services in 2007, where they held various roles of increasing responsibility. As the Chief Operations Officer, they were in charge of global operations and performance optimization, overseeing a budget of over USD 2 billion. David also had responsibilities in procurement, regional operations management, asset management, and ship management. Prior to joining ZIM, David served in the Israeli Defense Forces, where they held leadership positions in the Navy, focusing on planning, maintenance, logistics, and shipyard operations.
David Arbel obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Marine Engineering from the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology, where they studied from 1985 to 1989. Later, they pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a major in HighTec Management at the same institution from 2003 to 2005. Additionally, they studied Political Science at the University of Haifa from 2001 to 2002.
