Data Scientist - Customer Facing

The Zoba data science team engages with customers and Zoba’s deal teams to explain how Zoba works and provides value to mobility operators, and is responsible for carefully measuring the value provided. We are looking for a customer facing data scientist to join our team as the number of vehicles, markets, and operators covered by Zoba continues to grow.

In this role you will: 

• Deeply understand Zoba’s technical methodologies and implement improvements to our optimization and measurement pipelines
• Engage with current and prospective customers to explain how Zoba works, how we model mobility networks, and the benefits of using Zoba
• Support Zoba’s go-to-market teams with technical insight and custom analyses
• Collaborate closely with Zoba’s customer-facing engineers to validate customer data

What we are looking for: 

• Graduate degree in operations research, statistics, computer science, transportation, economics, or a related field; or similar expertise from prior work experience
• Strong coding and implementation skills: data wrangling, nuanced analysis, algorithm implementation
• Clear technical communication for both technical and lay audiences
• A team-first mindset and willingness to adapt as Zoba grows
• Experience with the “science” side of data science: analyzing complex systems, forming hypotheses, identifying interdependent effects

Nice to have:

• 1+ years work experience in data science
• An interest in cities, logistics, or mobility
• Prior experience writing and maintaining production code

This is an individual contributor position. The role can be Boston-based or location flexible for candidates willing to work on US east coast hours and travel to Boston approximately six times per year.
