Your Impact on our Mission:

Zocdoc’s most important asset is our people. As a Data Platform Operations Team Lead, you will support key data platform functions related to data tooling, infrastructure, and processes owned by the Analytics Platform. In this role, you’ll work with Data Engineering, Analytics Engineering, Data Product Management, and Analytics Platform Leadership to support the AP team’s mission and initiatives. Additionally, you’ll have the exciting opportunity to lead and build out the very first Analytics Data Operations team at Zocdoc!

The Analytics Platform’s mission is to create, maintain, and govern the data models, systems, and tools that power analytics, generate data insights, and drive data-informed business decision-making at Zocdoc. Analytics Platform’s two main stakeholders are Zocdoc’s data producers (product teams, internal systems, etc.) and data consumers (analysts, report consumers, etc.).

Your Day to Day Includes… 

Data Tools User Management & Support (Looker, Amplitude, and Collibra)

User Management (all tools):

  • Support user audits for our data platform tools and remove users during the offboarding process.
  • Update user roles and permissions as needed.
  • Support IT with user onboarding questions and process improvements.

Looker Support:

  • Handle requests for setting up and removing dashboard schedules.
  • Monitor instance performance and identify optimization opportunities.
  • Identify and clean up unused explores, dashboards, and LookML code.
  • Make simple LookML updates and PR reviews.
  • Provide level 1 support for on-call tasks (initial troubleshooting).
  • Perform administrative tasks as needed.

Collibra Support:

  • Maintain the ongoing data catalog.
  • Support Data PM with rollout and adoption.
  • Perform administrative tasks as needed.

Amplitude Support:

  • Provide level 1 support for on-call tasks (initial troubleshooting).
  • Perform administrative tasks as needed.

Data Warehouse Management & Support (Snowflake)

User Management:

  • Support user audits for our data warehouse and remove users during the offboarding process.
  • Update user roles and permissions as needed.
  • Support IT with user onboarding questions and process improvements.

Data Management Support:

  • Create and maintain a data dictionary for the de-identification process.
  • Support the creation of de-identified views.
  • Monitor warehouse performance and costs.
  • Support reporting for Analytics Platform team performance metrics/KPIs.
  • Handle ad-hoc projects/initiatives as needed.

You’d be Successful in This Role if You Have… 

  • A Bachelor’s degree from a reputed institution.
  • 5-6 years of proven experience in operations management with at least 1 year of experience as a Team Lead managing and coaching teams.
  • Proficiency in tools such as MS applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Google applications (Google Docs, Sheets), Monday.com, Confluence, Jira, and GitHub.
  • 2+ years of experience with data technologies such as:
    • SQL (writing efficient queries)
    • Data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake)
    • Data visualization tools (e.g., Looker)
    • Product analytics tools (e.g., Amplitude)
    • Data catalogs (e.g., Collibra)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and sharp focus.
  • Strong interpersonal and team skills.
  • Self-driven with the ability to learn quickly and readily adapt to change.
  • Flexible with US shift overlap in the short term for initial onboarding and meetings.
