Zachary Garlets is a Principal Scientist at Zoetis, with previous experience as a Senior Scientist at Bristol-Myers Squibb and a Ruth L. Kirschstein Postdoctoral Fellow at Emory University, where efforts focused on novel Rh-carbenoid C-H functionalization reactions. Zachary also served as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Michigan, developing new asymmetric methods for Pd-catalyzed carboheterofunctionalization reactions and a Ts-protected guanidine hydroamination protocol. In addition to research, Zachary held positions as a Graduate Student Instructor in both the Chemistry and English Departments at the University of Michigan, where responsibilities included lecturing and facilitating discussions in organic chemistry and an interdisciplinary writing course that integrated science and writing.
