Mechanical Engineer at Zola Electric

Prasanna Sivakumar has a diverse range of work experience in the engineering field.

Starting from the most recent position, Prasanna worked as a Mechanical Engineer at ZOLA Electric, where they led the design improvements for injection molded plastic parts and enclosures for a newly released product. Prasanna also performed tolerance analysis to ensure proper fit and function of these parts.

Prior to that, Prasanna was a Product Development Engineer at Abbott, where they were involved in product development projects.

Prasanna also worked as an R&D Engineer at BD, specializing in medical device design verification and validation. Prasanna supported cost reduction projects and documented design changes.

During their time as a Mechanical Engineering Intern at Panasonic Automotive, Prasanna focused on the design and analysis of automotive infotainment systems. Prasanna performed various tasks such as mechanical design, vibration analysis, and electronics cooling simulation.

Prasanna gained industrial engineering experience as an intern at Kindle Living, where they worked on industrial engineering projects.

Prasanna also served as a Product Design Intern at TimerCap LLC, where they were involved in product design activities.

Prasanna has also contributed as a Digital Prototyping Volunteer Intern at the Los Angeles Cleantech Incubator.

Additionally, they have gained experience through project internships at the Indian Institute of Science and Aeronautical Development Establishment (ADE), DRDO. At ADE, they were involved in wing structural analysis, creating 3D models, performing FEA, and analyzing results.

Prasanna Sivakumar studied Mechanical Engineering at Visvesvaraya Technological University from 2011 to 2015, earning a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) degree. In December 2015, they obtained a certification as a Certified SolidWorks Professional from Dassault Systèmes. Later, from 2016 to 2017, Prasanna pursued further education in Mechanical Engineering, completing a Master of Science (M.S.) degree at the University of Southern California.
