John McFarland

John McFarland, a Managing Director in ZRG’s Atlanta office, is a member of the Global Healthcare Services & Solutions and Not-For-Profit & Education practices. He specializes in C-suite and executive leader searches in all areas of healthcare as well as related member-driven and supporting nonprofit organizations. He believes in building strong relationships, trust, and understanding to support longstanding partnerships and successful solutions for his clients.

Prior to joining ZRG, John served clients for another global executive search firm, where he led and supported over 100 executive searches for various healthcare organizations and nonprofits. His career in executive search is underpinned by his experience as a Senior Consultant in Ernst & Young’s Advisory Practice, where he provided management support for large health systems and other major clients.

Additionally, John brings a deep perspective of operational leadership from his tenure as a commissioned officer in the United States Army, where he rose to the rank of Captain. His service included commanding at the company level, serving two tours of duty in combat, and receipt of the Bronze Star medal.

John’s areas of expertise include independent hospitals, health systems, health-related nonprofit organizations, and diversity leaders. Experience ranges from Presidents/CEOs, Chief Officers, Vice Presidents, and mid-level management.

John received a BS from the United States Military Academy at West Point and an MBA from the University of Georgia Terry College of Business.
