Asad's work is marked by a profound commitment to documenting significant humanitarian issues, beginning with the coverage of Cyclone Sidr in 2007, which greatly influenced the direction of the photographic journey. Since 2012, Asad has focused on the Rohingya refugee crisis, one of the most pressing humanitarian disasters of contemporary times. Additionally, Asad serves as a photojournalist for ZUMA Press and has freelanced for various media, emphasizing the pursuit of truth in journalism. Asad is a graduate of Pathshala South Asian Media Institute, where a foundation in photojournalism was established.
