Nandhinee Periyakaruppan

Nandhinee Periyakaruppan has work experience in various roles and companies. In 2019, they worked as a Computer Vision and ML intern at Admatic Solutions, where they built Deep Learning models for recognizing handwritten math equations and developed a Computer Vision interface for node creation in Elastic Search. From 2017 to 2020, they were involved with the SSN ACM-W Student Chapter, serving as Chairperson and Secretary. In these roles, they led a team, conducted workshops, and organized competitions. Nandhinee then worked as a Research Engineer at BUDDI AI from 2020 to 2022, where they developed an end-to-end system for automating Table Content Extraction from electronic health records and led a team in building a layout detection pipeline. Nandhinee also filed a patent for this project. Currently, they are a Graduate Student Researcher at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, working on Knowledge Injected Prompt Based Fine-tuning for Multi-label Few-shot ICD Coding in a Horizontal Federated Learning setting under Dr. Hong Yu at the BioNLP Lab.

Nandhinee Periyakaruppan completed their Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Anna University between 2016 and 2020. Following that, they pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Computer Science at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, which they expect to complete between 2022 and 2024.

Apart from their formal education, Nandhinee also obtained a certification in "Neural Networks and Deep Learning" from Coursera. The specific month and year of attaining this certification are not provided.
