Mahmoud Kalash has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Mahmoud began their career as a Control Engineer at Al-Hawary Control and Instrumentation in 2012, where they worked for a year. Mahmoud then moved on to work as an Undergraduate Student Advisor at Damascus University from September 2014 to January 2015.
In 2015, Mahmoud had an internship at Sukkar Co, where they gained experience in SCADA system designing. Following this, they joined the University of Manitoba in January 2016 as a Research Assistant. Mahmoud worked in this role until August 2018.
From August 2018 to July 2022, Mahmoud worked at MicroTraffic Road Safety Video Analytics, starting as a Computer Vision/Deep Learning Research Engineer and later progressing to the position of Vice President of Deep Learning and Computer Vision. In this role, they designed, built, developed, maintained, and improved the core technology of the company's software for generating road safety analysis data.
Currently, Mahmoud is working as a Senior Machine Learning Engineer at Zuva, starting from January 2022.
Mahmoud Kalash completed their Master's degree in Computer Science from the University of Manitoba, from the year 2016 to 2018. Prior to that, they obtained their Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering and Automation from Damascus University, for the period between 2009 to 2014. In December 2018, they also obtained a certification in "Learning How to Learn: Powerful mental tools to help you master tough subjects" from Coursera.
