Product Development Engineer at Zymeron Corporation

Huayu Tong has extensive work experience in the field of research and product development. They started their career as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Nanjing University from March 2015 to June 2017. After that, they joined Duke University as a Research Assistant in December 2017. During their time at Duke University, they worked on developing a hydrogel coated orthopedic implant for articular cartilage replacement. This project received FDA Breakthrough Device Designation and resulted in multiple journal articles, patents, and technology disclosures. They also served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant and Safety Manager during this time. In 2020, Huayu joined Sparta Biomedical as a Research Collaborator and worked there until May 2022. Their current position is as a Product Development Engineer at Zymeron Corporation, starting from August 2022.

Huayu Tong completed a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Chemistry from Duke University from 2017 to 2022.
