Effective January 1, Sherringham will transition from her current role as VP of Legal and become the delivery app’s General Counsel and Corporate Secretary. In her new role, she will continue to oversee DoorDash’s legal team and the company’s security, IT, & enterprise technology functions.
On the other hand, Amoo-Gottfried will step up from his role as VP of Marketing to become the company’s first-ever Chief Marketing Officer. He will now oversee the company’s Brand Marketing, Product Marketing, Partner Marketing, Creative, Insights, Integrated Marketing Strategy & Ops, International Marketing, Growth Marketing, and Retention Marketing.
“Tia and Kofi are not only A+ in their craft, but they are extreme owners who have always put DoorDash above their teams and themselves. This has resulted in their capacity to achieve business success beyond just that of their respective teams,” DoorDash CEO and Co-Founder Tony Xu stated in a press release. “Their abilities to – think from first principles, operate at the lowest level of detail, create pragmatic and winning solutions to challenging problems, build and develop world class teams, and become learning machines who always look to get 1% better everyday – have earned the trust of all of our audiences, internally and externally.”
Sherringham initially joined DoorDash in 2017 as its Associate General Counsel and has since led multiple funding rounds, an IPO, as well as the company’s acquisition of Wolt. Before DoorDash, Sherringham was a founding member of Instacart’s legal team and represented big tech companies as a lawyer at Keker, Van Nest & Peters.
Before Amoo-Gottfried took on his first marketing role at DoorDash in 2019, he served as the VP of Brand & Consumer Marketing Meta (then Facebook). He also served as the Chief Strategy Officer at FCB New York and Global Communications Director for the Rum Category at Bacardi.
In the past quarter, DoorDash’s revenue grew 45% year-over-year to $1.3 billion on the back of a 47% increase in total orders.
