LinkedIn has quietly named James Chuong as its new Chief Finacial Officer, replacing longtime finance chief Steve Sordello.

The move was discovered by The Org and has been confirmed on Linkedin's website, however, the company hasn’t yet published a statement on the transition.

Sordello, whose LinkedIn profile now reads “SVP and CFO Emeritus,” had been with the professional social networking site since 2007. While he hasn’t revealed his next plans, he will still be busy as he currently serves as Audit Committee Chair at Atlassian and sits on the Board of Directors of real estate technology firm Compass.

The 14-year company veteran has guided LinkedIn to acheive incredible growth since he joined from TiVo, including leading the company through a $26.2 billion acquisition by Microsoft in 2016.

His replacement, James Chuong, is also a company veteran and will now oversee the company’s finance, accounting, corporate development and strategy, business operations, and LinkedIn workplace teams.

Chuong first joined Linkedin in 2013 and has since served in several senior finance positions including his most recent post as VP Finance, Global Monetization. Chuong has also held roles at JPMorgan, CitiGroup, and Bank of America.

The Org has reached out to LinkedIn for comment.
