Intercom Hires New Executives as It Prepares for Continued Growth

Intercom has hired two new executives, Chief Marketing Officer Anna Griffin and General Counsel Cheree McAlpine, as it pushes its customer communications platform into its next stage of growth.

Griffin comes to Intercom from Smartsheet, where she also served as CMO and helped grow the collaboration and work management application to $500 million in annual recurring revenue (ARR).

At Intercom, Griffin will work closely with the company’s first-ever Chief Revenue Officer, Leandra Fishman, who joined the company in April 2021 to expand the company’s presence with enterprise customers like Amazon and Microsoft.

McAlpine joins as Intercom’s first-ever General Counsel and will be in charge of setting the strategy for the company’s legal team. She will also tap into her 25 years of global legal experience, including time as the Chief Legal Officer at Lumileds, to help prepare the company for its continued growth.

Over the past year, the California-based company has built up its marketing team including VP level hires from Okta and Zendesk. It has also on boarded Dropbox’s former Head of FP&A GTM as its VP of Financial Planning & Analysis.
