Ford has selected seasoned tech executive Doug Field to serve as its new Chief Advanced Technology and Embedded Systems Officer. Field is leaving his role at the leader of Apple's Project Titan, a major blow to the tech company's secrative effort to create its own vehicle.
VMware has filled a major leadership role by promoting Kit Colbert to serve as its next Chief Technology Officer. Colbert has been with the enterprise software giant since 2003 and is a natural pick as he has led tech teams throughout the company. He has previously served as the CTO of VMware’s Cloud, General Manager of VMware’s Cloud-Native Apps business, CTO for VMware’s End-User Computing Business, and as the lead architect for the VMware vRealize Operations Suite.
Apple has selected Kevin Lynch to lead its mysterious efforts to create its a self-driving electric vehicle. Lynch is an Apple stalwart who has been with the company since 2013 and reportedly joined the Project Titan team earlier this year. Before that, he was a VP of Technology in the company’s wearable unit and has made appearances at Apple events to present watchOS updates and features.
Match Group has appointed Renate Nyborg to succeed Jim Lanzone as the CEO of Tinder, the company's flagship dating app. In her previous role at Tinder, Nyborg led the app's marketing efforts across Europe and oversaw strategic global initiatives across the company.
Yahoo has officially named Tinder CEO Jim Lanzone as the company new CEO, effective September 27. He joins the storied internet company as it charts a new era outside of Verizon. Lanzone is currently the CEO of Tinder, but before taking over leadership of the Match Group-owned dating app he served as CBS’s Chief Digital Officer and CEO of CBS Interactive.
