Our Pulse team creates a benchmarking tool used by the likes of Monzo, Starling, Natwest and Tesco Bank. On top of all of that, we’re a media company, our Growth team generate a stream of content that supports our brand and changes the conversation - not necessarily in that order. Our Foundry team is creating a fintech building machine by leveraging our experience and history of building multiple fintech banks and other propositions.

What you’ll be doing:

This is a great opportunity for an ACA or ACCA qualified person with strong financial accounting experience and keen to grow their career in finance.

Working in a small Finance Operations and Reporting team reporting to the Finance Director, you will:

  • Own Month End preparation of consolidated, company and divisional Management Accounts which includes P&L, BS and Cash flow statements
  • Oversee the year-end audit process and be the point of contact for external auditors
  • Complete all monthly balance sheet reconciliations with relevant supporting documentation.
  • Be a business partner to a number of cost centres in the business providing understanding and insight  to the numbers and variances.
  • Producing budgets and rolling forecasts for assigned cost centres and provide in-depth financial analysis to senior management of cost centres
  • Maintain and manage a number of our key reporting and forecasting google sheets ensuring their integrity and accuracy.
  • Prepare and submit company taxes including VAT and R&D tax claims
  • Work with the team to shape the processes and controls to produce best in class timely, accurate and informative financial reporting whilst building a strong control environment and high level of service to internal customers.

About you

  • You will be a qualified accountant with a recognised professional body (ideally ACA or ACCA) with a good understanding of UK GAAP.
  • You will have strong system skills including advanced levels of excel and/or google sheets.
  • You will have experience in dealing with auditors and in resolving audit queries.
  • You will have a good attention to detail. With understanding of the data this will allow you to pick up any flags or discrepancies quickly and efficiently. 
  • You will be able to manage your time effectively and have great organisational skills, working with the senior finance team when you require support.
  • You will be collaborative and an able communicator. Working as a team is key to success and building relationships is at the heart of your job.
  • You should be self-motivated, resourceful and purposeful, eager to contribute to change in an exciting, fast paced, growth environment. 
  • You will be a creative problem solver.  Participating in  conversations and developing processes with solution-forward thinking. 
  • Most importantly, you’ll have a willingness to learn and be keen to grow your career in finance.
