Uluc Aydin

Uluc Aydin is the current Head of Engineering at 1build. Prior to this, they were the Senior Director of Software Engineering: Data Platform at Expedia Group from August 2016 to June 2021. In this role, they directed an engineering organization that focuses on enabling Expedia Group brands data scientists, analysts, and engineers to make data-driven decisions from a central data platform. Uluc also transformed Expedia Group brands to utilize data as a product by leading the domain-driven strategy across all brands.

Before their time at Expedia Group, Aydin was the Principal Software Architect, Personal Investment at Fidelity Investments from May 2015 to August 2016. In this role, they led the technical transition to microservices architecture and development of Personal Investment services and mobile products. Uluc was also responsible for the development and productization of the native Fidelity Android Mobile app, as well as the hybrid cloud platform on AWS, Azure, and Fidelity private cloud that serves over 24M personal investors. Additionally, they modernized all SOA services software development life cycle, reducing time-to-market from days to minutes.

The educational career for Uluc Aydin would include a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Istanbul Bilgi University.
