ROLE OVERVIEW

As a Graphic & Product Packaging Designer, you will be an integral part of our creative team, responsible for crafting visually stunning and effective packaging designs that enhance the overall product experience. Your role involves translating brand identity and marketing objectives into compelling and functional packaging solutions. From conceptualization to final production, you will play a key role in ensuring our products stand out on shelves and resonate with our target audience.

This is a business critical role and one that will deliver strong administrative expertise across a range of activities, leverage technology to enhance process efficiency and effectiveness and participate in a broad range of reporting and coordination duties.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Craft innovative packaging designs that are not only visually appealing but also functional, enhancing the customer’s unboxing experience.

  • Render focus to the creative sides of product packaging which includes but not limited to brand storytelling, innovative design concepts, visual appeal and aesthetics and user experience design.

  • Conceptualization and Ideation:

    • Creativity: Generating innovative ideas for packaging designs that align with the brand identity and product characteristics.
    • Research: Conducting market research to understand consumer preferences, trends, and competitors' packaging strategies.
  • Design Development:

    • Understand and implement the design brief provided by the internal marketing team
    • Sketching and Prototyping: Creating initial sketches and digital mock-ups to visualize concepts.
    • Material Selection: Choosing appropriate materials that balance aesthetics, functionality, and cost-effectiveness.
    • Typography and Graphics: Designing typography, logos, and graphics that enhance brand visibility and communicate product information effectively.
  • Brand Alignment:

    • Ensure packaging designs reflect and reinforce the brand's visual identity and messaging.
    • Use visual elements such as color schemes, typography, imagery, and even tactile sensations to convey the brand's story and values.
    • Collaborate with the marketing team to integrate product and brand messaging into packaging designs
  • Problem Solving and Adaptability:

    • Iterative Design: Ability to iterate designs based on feedback, testing, and consumer insights.
    • Adaptability: Being flexible to adjust designs based on production constraints, budget considerations, and market feedback.
  • Technical Proficiency:

    • Utilize industry-standard design software for packaging design and prepress preparation.
    • Create dielines and specifications for print production, ensuring designs meet technical requirements.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:

    • Work closely with product development, marketing, and production teams to understand product requirements and constraints.
    • Collaborate with external vendors and suppliers to ensure the successful execution of packaging designs.
  • Prototyping and Testing:

    • Develop prototypes and mock-ups for testing and evaluation.

    • Iterate on designs based on feedback and testing results to optimize visual and functional aspects.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Technical Expertise

·       A relevant bachelor’s degree, or equivalent in Graphics Design or other related field.

·       A minimum of 1 year's recent experience in similar position designing product packaging

OR

·       A minimum of 3 years recent experience in similar position designing product packaging

AND

·       Proficient working knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite - Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.

·       Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint and Word

·       Proficient in use of Canva or other similar online editing software.

·       Impeccable crafting skills

·       Ability to showcase a strong creative portfolio

·       Experience in a global business environment

·       Experience in a start-up environment.

·       Interest in Medical Device / IVD

Circumstances

·       Fluent in English (C2 or above)

·       Able to work remotely alongside globally dispersed teams and in US time zones

·      Available to work US shift : 8pm - 5am Philippines Time

·      Compensation : Php45,000 per month

Technology Setup

In addition to the above, you must also have the appropriate technology system & software in place as below:

·       Internet not lower than 50 MBPS

·       Less than 5 year old Laptop or PC with at least Intel Core i3 processor and 4GB RAM (or equivalent)

·       Microsoft Office Suite & Adobe Creative Suite

·       Noise cancellation headset & a webcam
