Jumi P. has a diverse and extensive work experience in the scientific and healthcare field. Jumi currently works at 54gene as the Vice President of Molecular Genetics and Biobank Operations, where they are responsible for expanding operations in Molecular Genetics within the organization and across Africa. Prior to this role, they served as the Senior Director of Molecular Genetics and Biobank Operations, leading a team of scientists in multiple laboratories focused on molecular diagnosis of COVID-19 and researching genetic drivers of diseases in Africa. Prior to that, they pursued a Ph.D. with Integrated Studies in Molecular Genetics at The University of Sheffield from 2005 to 2009. Before their Ph.D., they completed a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Molecular and Genetic Medicine at The University of Sheffield from 2004 to 2005. Jumi P. received their Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Medical Microbiology from the University of Lagos between 2000 and 2004.
