David Townsend

David Townsend has extensive experience in the field of solar energy and finance. David currently works as the Director of Procurement - Inverters PV/BESS, BESS Integration, O&M at Avantus. Prior to this, they served as the Director of Module and Tracker Procurement at the same company. Before joining Avantus, David was the Vice President of Sales at Talesun Solar Technologies. David also held the position of Director of Sales, Utility and Large Commercial at JA Solar. In addition, David has experience in strategic accounts management, having served as the Director of Strategic Accounts US and Canada at Yingli Green Energy Holding Co.,LTD. David has also worked in the finance industry as a Partner at Wealbridge Capital and WuWei Capital Partners. Earlier in their career, David was the Director of Business Development at Wirsol Solar Americas. Their previous roles also include positions at Saratoga Capital LLC and GFI Group in derivatives execution and equity derivatives brokering, respectively.

David Townsend attended Dallas Senior High School from 1991 to 1995. David then went on to study at the University of Pennsylvania and The Wharton School from 1995 to 1999, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and specializing in Finance/Real Estate.
