Deborah Caton has a diverse work experience in various fields. Deborah started their career at Baker College as a Part Time Instructor from August 2009 to July 2010. Deborah then moved on to Mott Community College where they served as an Adjunct Instructor from September 2010 to May 2014, teaching Developmental Writing and freshman composition classes. In 2014, they joined Michigan Virtual Charter Academy as an English Teacher, facilitating and teaching high school classes and coordinating the Advanced Placement program. During their tenure, they were honored with the Teacher of the Year award for the 2017/18 school year. In 2015, they briefly worked at Family & Community Mediation And Business Consulting (FACMBC) as an Editor, providing editing and consultation services for book publication. From 2018, Deborah joined The Dow Chemical Company as a Learning Developer, responsible for creating and managing training and communication content for various projects. Deborah collaborates with subject matter experts, evaluates user feedback, and continuously improves training methodologies. In 2019, Deborah started working as a Content/Assessment Creator on a freelance basis for A Pass Educational Group, LLC, where they develop assessment items and passages for educational partners throughout the United States.
Deborah Caton holds a Master's degree in Written Communication from Eastern Michigan University. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Secondary Education from Western Michigan University. Additionally, Deborah has obtained a Professional Teaching Certificate from the State of Michigan in June 2018. Deborah also holds certifications in Advanced Placement Language and Composition as well as Advanced Placement Psychology from The College Board, although the specific dates of obtaining these certifications are not provided.
