Barclay Knapp has an extensive work experience in the telecommunications industry. In 1983, they co-founded and served as CFO, then President and COO of Cellular Communications, Inc (CCI). CCI, operating under the Cellular One brand, became the first cellular company in the U.S. In 1993, they served as CEO and President of NTL, Incorporated. In 2006, they were Chairman and CEO of Clearband. From 2013 to 2019, they were Chairman and CEO of Preferred Communication Systems, Inc., where they successfully re-established the business and its FCC licenses, and successfully concluded a major asset sale and debt reductions. From 2014 to 2021, they were Executive Chairman and Co-Founder, then CEO and Co-Founder of Iota Communications, Inc. In 2019, they founded and served as CEO of Hawkwood Group, LLC. Since 2021, they have been Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of AAVAA. Additionally, since 2004 they have been a Senior Fellow in Economics & Center for Financial Economics at The Johns Hopkins University and Chairman and CEO of ProCapital Group, LLC, a strategic consulting firm.

Barclay Knapp received their MBA from Harvard Business School in 1983 and their BA in Mathematics from The Johns Hopkins University in 1979.
