Bryan Salas-Santiago

Bryan Salas-Santiago is a highly experienced scientist with a strong background in microbiology and research. Currently serving as a Senior Scientist at AbbVie since May 2024, Bryan previously held the position of Research Scientist at 76Bio, Inc. from February 2023 to May 2024, where efforts focused on developing a high throughput cloning platform for peptide screening in oncology. Bryan also worked as a Scientist at Prolacta Bioscience, developing a genetic platform for the probiotic Bifidobacterium infantis, and contributed to novel metabolic pathways at CONAGEN, INC. prior to that. Education includes a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Microbiology from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Microbiology from the University of Puerto Rico-Mayaguez. Bryan's expertise encompasses gene mining, cloning, and science communication, highlighted by contributions to El Sol Latino, where science topics were communicated to the public.
