Christine Bui

Mechatronics Engineer at Able Innovations

Christine Bui has been working in the engineering field since 2015. Christine began their career as a Volunteer Student Researcher at the University of Toronto, where they conducted research to build an experiment to provide proof of concept for a device that could detect residual electromagnetic waves around the body. Christine then became a Vice President of the Global Engineering UofT Chapter of Engineers Without Borders Canada and a Team Lead and Project Initiator at Casey House, a local HIV/AIDS hospital. In 2016, they were a Jr Product Manager, Graphic Designer, and Communications Director at Numida Technologies and a Director of Design at You're Next Career Network. In 2017, Christine worked as a Design Engineering Intern at Healthcare Human Factors. Christine then returned to the University of Toronto in 2018 as a Mechanical Design and Test Engineering and Client Management Lead, collaborating with client Solar Ship Inc. to design and prototype a novel & unique landing gear system for their amphibious solarship. In 2019, Christine took on the role of Mechatronics Engineer at Able Innovations Inc.

Christine Bui obtained a High School Diploma (OSSD) with Extended French Certificate from Neuchâtel Junior College in 2013-2014. Christine then attended the University of Toronto, where they earned an Engineer’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering with a Mechatronics Minor and Biomedical Engineering Minor in 2014-2019. During their time at the University of Toronto, they also obtained a Certificate in Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Small Business in April 2016. Additionally, Christine Bui earned Basic Machining certification from George Brown College in September 2015.
