Using drones and Abyss analytics is just the beginning, Abyss comprehensively classifies the ‘state’ of the asset to identify exactly what maintenance is required, providing precise direction.

Abyss is driving to fully automate the maintenance process, expanding applications and capabilities into

other verticals, even operating in space thanks to the recent Australian government ‘Moon to Mars’ funding.

Position Summary
As an Assistant Vendor   Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing vendor management, vendor performance management, stakeholder communication, analytics and data management, optics facilitation, cultural ambassadorship, resource optimization, risk management, documentation and reporting, and continuous improvement in the context of Vendor Planning and Management. This role plays a vital part in ensuring efficient project delivery, and resource allocation, and fostering a culture of high performance within the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Assist in managing relationships with all operational vendors to ensure they can ramp up or ramp down their resources according to project requirements.

  2. Assist the Vendor Governance Manager in collaboration with vendors to negotiate contracts, pricing, and service level agreements to meet project needs.

  • Daily Vendor Operations:
  1. Daily work assignment and monitoring

  2. Ensuring continuous vendor engagement on projects to avoid idle hours.

  • Performance Management:
  1. Liaise with all operational vendors to monitor and manage their performance against agreed-upon metrics and KPIs.

  2. Identify areas for improvement and work with vendors to implement corrective actions.

  • Team Composition Advisory:

1.Provide and assist in guidance and recommendations to Vendors on the composition of project teams based on project requirements.

  • Stakeholder Communication:
  1. Liason with all local global stakeholders to assist in managing and aligning project delivery expectations both externally with clients and internally with project teams regarding annotation vendors.

  • Analytics and Data Management:
  1. Oversee the collection and analysis of relevant data and analytics necessary for decision-making in annotation vendor planning.

  2. Utilize data-driven insights to assist in making informed decisions about resource allocation and project management for annotation vendors.

  • Optics Facilitation:
  1. Create and maintain dashboards, reports, and other tools that provide visibility into vendor performance, allocation and proficiencies.

  • Cultural Ambassadorship:
  1. Promote and foster a high-performance culture within the project teams and the organization as a whole.

  2. Lead by example and inspire teams to strive for excellence and continuous improvement.

  • Resource Optimization:
  1. Assist in continuously assessing vendor resource utilization and allocation to ensure optimal use of available resources.

  2. Assist in the identification of opportunities to streamline processes and resource allocation for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

  • Risk Management:
  1. Proactively identify and assist in mitigating risks related to Vendor resource planning and project delivery.

  2. Assist in developing contingency plans to address vendor resource shortages or other potential disruptions.

  • Documentation and Reporting:
  1. Maintain accurate records of resource allocation, vendor contracts, and project delivery timelines.

  2. Prepare regular reports and updates for senior management and other relevant stakeholders.

  • Continuous Improvement:
  1. Stay updated on industry best practices, tools, and technologies related to resource management and project planning.

  2. Continuously seek opportunities to improve processes and enhance the effectiveness of vendor resource allocation and project delivery.

Person specification

  • High attention to detail

  • Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel.

  • Proficiency in creating visual models, such as process flows, data flow diagrams, and business process diagrams.

  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) to create impactful visualizations and reports.

  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to think critically and solve complex problems.

  • Proficiency in data analysis techniques, including data mining, data visualization, and statistical analysis.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey technical information to diverse audiences.

  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to ensuring data accuracy and integrity.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and adapt to evolving business needs.

  • 2+ years of industrial experience in a relevant industry and engineering role.

  • Strong computer skills with demonstrated ability to quickly pick up the use of new software

  • Experience in working with or as part of remote teams

  • Ability to work flexibly to support the top management on short notice for business decision

  • Flexible to manage multiple stakeholders in different time zones as and when required

Qualification

A bachelor's level qualification in engineering, preferably Mechatronics or mechanical engineering, is required. A master's degree or relevant certification (e.g., PMP) is a plus.
