Mark Parthum

Mark Parthum has a diverse work experience in various roles related to IT project management and GIS. Mark started their career as a GIS Data Analyst at the City of Troy, MI, where they established an enterprise GIS system for the city. Mark then worked as a GIS Analyst and GIS Program Manager for the Army National Guard Environmental Programs Division, where they integrated GIS into organizational processes and managed an IT investment and GIS program. Mark then joined the Colorado State University/CEMML as a GIS Program Manager for the Army National Guard Environmental Programs Division, where they further developed their skills in managing an IT investment and GIS program for the government. Mark then moved to CH2M HILL as a Geospatial/IT Project Manager for the Air National Guard Installations & Mission Support, where they gained valuable experience in a more process-driven approach. After that, Mark joined Ardent Management Consulting as a Project Manager, Scrum Master, and Agile Coach, where they managed various IT projects for organizations such as the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the National Infrastructure Coordinating Center (NICC). Currently, Mark is working at Accela as a Partner Technology Director, responsible for managing implementation projects, leading technical consultants, and enhancing current functionality for existing customers.

Mark Parthum started their education at Michigan State University from 1996 to 2000, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Studies and Applications. After that, from 2002 to 2004, they attended Walsh College and completed their Master of Science degree in Business Information Technology.

In addition to their degrees, Mark Parthum has obtained several certifications. In 2009, they became a Certified GIS Professional (GISP) from the GIS Certification Institute. In 2011, they obtained the Certified Scrum Master (CSM) certification from the Scrum Alliance. Finally, in 2013, they became a Project Management Professional from the Project Management Institute.
