Simina Grigoriu has a wealth of professional experience in the fields of protein and structural sciences, structural biology, biophysics, and medicinal chemistry. In 2022, they began their current role as Associate Director of Protein & Structural Sciences at Accent Therapeutics, Inc. Prior to this, they were Associate Director of Structural Biology at Roivant Sciences from 2021, where they led the scientific, technical, and operational aspects of structural biology for drug discovery programs, and served as Principal Investigator. Simina was also a Senior Investigator and Principal Investigator at Silicon Therapeutics from 2019 to 2021, and a Scientist, Structural Biology at Warp Drive Bio, Inc. from 2017 to 2019. From 2015 to 2017, they were a Postdoc Scientist in Structure & Biophysics at AstraZeneca. From 2013 to 2015, they were a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Protein NMR at Harvard Medical School. From 2007 to 2013, they were a Doctoral Candidate in Structural Biology at Brown University, and from 2005 to 2007 they were an Undergraduate Researcher in Medicinal Chemistry at Tufts University. In 2004, they were an Undergraduate Researcher in Cell Biology at UMass Medical School.
Simina Grigoriu attended St. Peter-Marian High School from 1999 to 2003. Simina then went on to study Biochemistry and Biomedical Engineering at Tufts University, where they earned a B.S. in 2007. Following that, they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Structural Biology from Brown University in 2013.
