Nelson Cortez

Nelson Cortez is the Manager of Corporate IT at Access Restoration Services. Nelson has over 18 years of experience in the IT field, with a background in information technology management, support, and administration.

Nelson started their career in 2000 as an IT Manager at Plan Group. There, they were responsible for departmental direction and full design, installation, engineering, implementation, support, training, administration, and management authority for LAN/WAN Network Services, 24x7 Data Center Computer Operations, Help Desk Operations, maintaining Windows 2003 / 2008 Active Directories, and ensuring that proper system backup, disaster recovery and security procedures and processes were in place. Nelson also advised executives on strategic systems conversions and integrations in support of business goals and objectives.

In 2013, Nelson left Plan Group to join OZZ Electric Inc. as an Information Technology Specialist. At OZZ Electric, they were responsible for provisioning data circuits using different carriers to provide redundancy and maintain 99.9% uptime at each location, managing the implementation of the telephone system at Head Office and offices that were part of the private network across Canada, and performing a variety of duties related to servers monitoring and capacity management.

In October 2017, Nelson left OZZ Electric to join Symtech Innovations Ltd. as an Information Technology Specialist. Nelson was responsible for the same duties as at their previous company.

In March 2018, Nelson left Symtech Innovations Ltd. to join Access Restoration Services as the Manager of Corporate IT. In their current role, they are responsible for leading the technical support team, overseeing LAN/WAN Network Services, 24x7 Data Center Computer Operations, Help Desk Operations, maintaining Windows 2003 / 2008 Active Directories, and ensuring that proper system backup, disaster recovery and security procedures and processes are in place. Nelson is also responsible for advising executives on strategic systems conversions and integrations in support of business goals and objectives.

Nelson Cortez has completed a professional CADD program at Humber College, a CAD advanced program at Centennial College, and an estimating for electrical trade and electrical construction and maintenance program at George Brown College.

Nelson Cortez works with Scott Jacobi - CFO, Nathan Normoyle - Vice President of Global Operations, and Vince Wong - Manager, Corporate Human Resources. Their manager is Corporate Group, Ownership.
