Julie Bakken

Julie Bakken is a highly experienced research professional currently serving as a Senior Research Associate at The Access to Advanced Health Institute since March 2022. Previously, Julie held the same title at the Infectious Disease Research Institute from April 2020 to March 2022, and worked as a Vivarium Manager at the Institute for Systems Biology from January 2017 to December 2019. A significant portion of Julie's early career includes positions as a Research Animal Technician III at MedImmune, and as a Research Technician at multiple organizations, including Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, Harlan Laboratories, and Novartis. Julie's foundational experience began as an Animal Care Specialist in the U.S. Army Veterinary Corps. Julie holds a degree in Biotechnology from Montgomery College and has specialized training as an Animal Care Specialist from U.S. Army.
