Luis Ramos has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Luis is currently the Director of Business Advising at Accion Opportunity Fund, where they established and manages the Business Advisory Services Department. Prior to this, they served as a Senior Officer of Business Development and Lending Operations at the Mission Economic Development Agency, where they advised over 200 businesses, developed forecasting tools, and achieved a 30% increase in sales for their clients. Luis has also worked as a Senior Associate of Business Development at the New York Business Development Corporation, assisting business clients in applying for SBA lending capital and developing key partner relationships. Luis was a Business Development Advisor at LiftFund, advising over 500 small businesses and establishing referral relationships with banking institutions. In addition, Luis served as a Microfinance Program Coordinator at IMIFAP, where they identified rural communities in Mexico for microfinance programs and facilitated the development of community banks. Luis also gained research experience as a Junior Researcher at The World Bank, focusing on labor conditions in Zambia, and worked as a Teaching Assistant at Texas A&M University, teaching Russian language classes. Luis began their career as a Head Teller at IBC Bank, overseeing daily activities and managing a team of tellers.
Luis Ramos obtained their Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in International Business from Texas A&M University between 2004 and 2008. Subsequently, they pursued a Master's degree in International Affairs & Developmental Economics from Texas A&M University - The Bush School of Government and Public Service from 2009 to 2011.
