Akash Shah has a diverse and extensive work experience in the healthcare and consulting industry. Akash began their career as a Research Assistant at the University of Pennsylvania's Cellular and Molecular Imaging Lab. From there, they joined McKinsey & Company as a Business Analyst and later returned to McKinsey & Company as an Engagement Manager. At McKinsey, they served private and public payers and played a key role in executing a federal funding program to support hospitals and physician practices during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Akash then moved on to work at the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation, where they led negotiations with the State of Vermont and launched the Vermont All-payer ACO Model, a payment and care delivery model to improve health outcomes. Akash also played a significant role in developing the risk structure and payment methodologies for CMS's Comprehensive Care for Joint Replacement Model.

After their time at the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation, Akash joined CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield as the Director of Program Development and Innovation, where they led initiatives to identify and partner with early-stage healthcare companies, including launching a clinical utility study and leading a Series A investment.

Akash then joined Aledade, Inc. as part of the Corporate Development team, before becoming the General Manager at Cityblock Health. Currently, they hold the position of Chief Growth Officer at Accompany Health.

Akash Shah earned a B.S. in Bioengineering from the University of Pennsylvania in 2007-2012, with a focus on Management, Entrepreneurship & Innovation at The Wharton School. Akash later went on to obtain an M.S. in Engineering in the field of Bioengineering from the University of Pennsylvania in 2011-2012.
