Douglas Johns has a diverse work experience in the software development industry. Douglas began their career at Sustainable Energy Fund as a Web Developer in 2010. Douglas then joined Guardian Life as a Developer, working there from September 2010 to July 2016. Douglas joined FamilyWize Community Service Partnership in 2016, where they played a significant role in transforming the team's methodology to Agile/Scrum. Douglas led various projects, including overhauling and rewriting the FamilyWize website and mobile application. In 2019, they moved to Air Products as a .NET Developer, where they maintained and enhanced an AngularJS web app with a .NET backend. Since 2021, Douglas has been working at AccuWeather, where they have held positions as a Senior Software Developer and currently as a Lead Software Developer. Douglas has led projects involving the conversion of critical applications, the implementation of GraphQL-based APIs, and the development of a cloud-based platform for push notifications. Douglas has also led the transition to using Terraform for Infrastructure as Code platform and the adoption of GitHub actions for CI/CD processes.
Douglas Johns received their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Computer Science, Computer Security, and Applied Mathematics from East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania between 2004 and 2009.
