HR technology is in the midst of a revolution, moving beyond basic record-keeping functions to the strategic business need for talent optimization.  Achievers is at the forefront of this movement and the Product team is looking for a Product Manager who can ensure the company can keep up with its rapid growth.     Achievers is on a mission to Change the Way the World Works and it starts with everyone being able to use our products. As a subject matter expert you will be responsible for leading and managing the accessibility and compliance functions within Achievers. You will partner with a talented set of Engineers and Software Developers to ensure accessibility standards across the product.  Working alongside your dedicated engineering team in a continuous delivery model, you will be enabled to turn your vision to reality with speed.  This role is right for you if you enjoy solving complex system problems and growing our business to a massive scale with an eye on accessibility for all. 

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Product Design, Product Management and Engineering teams to identify, prioritize, and implement accessibility improvements.
  • Develop and enforce standards for testing including programmatic and manual testing methods
  • Conducting regular accessibility assessments and usability testing to identify areas of improvement.
  • Serving as a subject matter expert on accessibility standards and regulations, including WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines)
  • Advocating for accessibility best practices across the organization and fostering a culture of inclusion.
  • Staying informed about emerging accessibility trends, technologies, and regulations to drive continuous improvement.
  • Help champion the tools, tooling and methodologyrequired to deliver accessible solutions
  • Develop and measure platform metrics to quantify impact of your changes
  • Articulate detailed user stories, participate in daily scrum rituals, and answer questions as the internal customer representative
  • Work with engineering to execute on your accessibility product vision from conception to launch
  • Act as a product expert and champion

Requirements

  • 3+ years of product management experience
  • Expert level understanding of applicable guidelines including WCAG
  • Familiarity with accessibility guidelines and relevant laws across key regions (USA, Canada, Europe, APAC)
  • IAAP certification a plus

Accessibility Tools and Skills

  • Tools are essential for assessing, implementing, and testing accessibility features and ensuring that products meet the needs of users with disabilities. Hands-on experience or good familiarity with some of the following will be favored:
  • Screen readers (e.g., JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver for Mac, Talkback for Android)
  • Accessibility testing tools (e.g., Axe, WAVE)
  • Keyboard navigation tools and shortcuts
  • Color contrast checkers
  • ARIA (Accessible Rich Internet Applications) authoring tools
  • Assistive technologies such as switch controls and speech recognition software
  • Accessibility APIs (Application Programming Interface) for platform-specific accessibility features (e.g., Android Accessibility APIs, iOS Accessibility APIs)
  • Text-to-speech and speech-to-text tools
  • Alternative input devices (e.g., sip-and-puff devices, eye-tracking systems)

Skills

  • Must possess strong project management and leadership aptitude; demonstrated professionalism in managing multiple projects and resources effectively
  • Strong communication skills – must be proficient communicating across all levels of the organization as well as building successful relationships
  • Fluent in technical processes and the ability to translate these processes with non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience acting as a product owner in an agile development and rapid prototyping environment – bonus if you have worked on accessibility solutions before
  • Experience articulating detailed user stories, participating in daily scrum rituals, and answering questions as the customer representative
  • Strong appreciation for user design and user behaviors
  • Ability to work with product metric tools to make data informed decisions
