Michael Russo

Vice President- Digital Strategy & Innovation at Acorda Therapeutics

Michael Russo has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Michael started their career as a Research Associate, managing a histology laboratory and developing the laboratory SOP library for a histology department. Michael then transitioned to a Project Manager role in technology, where they managed IT projects, provided telecommunications support, and developed software for internal clients.

After this, Michael worked as a Business Systems Architect, overseeing helpdesk operations, technical infrastructure development, and mobile device management. Michael then moved on to become an Assistant Director in eMarketing, leading the launch of Ampyra and Zanaflex Capsules by managing eCRM, website development, and promotion for both brands.

Michael continued to advance in their career and took on roles as Director of Corporate Digital Marketing Strategy, Senior Director of Corporate Digital Strategy and Innovation, and Executive Director of Digital Strategy and Innovation. In these positions, they focused on managing and coordinating digital marketing, media, and social media projects, with an emphasis on innovation in the digital space.

Their most recent role is Vice President of Digital Strategy and Innovation at Acorda Therapeutics, where they are responsible for brand and corporate digital leadership, enterprise digital/advertising, intranet development, medical apps, clinical trial recruitment initiatives, and social media projects.

Prior to their work at Acorda Therapeutics, Michael also served as an MIS Administrator at Fortistar Capital, where they managed the network and server environment for day-to-day operations and oversaw telecommunication services and WAN operations for multiple power cogeneration locations in the US and China. Overall, Michael Russo has demonstrated expertise in digital strategy, innovation, marketing, technology, and project management throughout their career.

Michael Russo received their Bachelor of Science degree in Biotechnology from Fordham University, where they studied from 1989 to 1994. Michael then attended the New York College of Podiatric Medicine from 1994 to 1997, focusing on Podiatric Medicine. In 2020, Michael obtained a Certificate in Marketing Analytics from the University of Virginia.
