Project Pioneer For The Vice President, Support at Acquia

Maria McDowell's work experience begins in 2004 when they worked as a Graduate Web Assistant at Boston College. In this role, they assisted with web-based technology implementation in a humanities curriculum. Maria also co-administered a Davis Grant-funded position and developed an interactive web project.

In 2006, Maria McDowell started working as a Web Developer at MariaGwyn Web Design, where they developed websites.

In 2010, they began working as a Contract Web Developer at United Way of the Columbia-Willamette, where they updated the organization's website and implemented SEO recommendations.

Maria also pursued an academic scholarship in 2010, working as an Independent Scholar.

From 2011 to 2017, Maria McDowell worked at Acquia. Maria started as a Remote Administration Manager and was responsible for managing a team of support engineers and developers. Maria implemented a scalable update process across multiple application stacks in a multi-cloud environment and expanded the scope of offerings. Later, they became a Senior Support Engineer, specializing in special projects. In 2018, they became a Project Pioneer for the Vice President, Support, where they implemented the VP's ideas and pioneered new projects.

Finally, Maria McDowell currently works at St. Philip the Deacon Episcopal Church as a Priest-in-Charge, which they started in March 2018. Maria then became the Rector in December 2018.

Maria McDowell earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Religion from Pitzer College between 1990 and 1999. Maria then pursued a Master of Divinity degree from Fuller Theological Seminary from 1995 to 1999. After a gap, they completed their education by obtaining a PhD in Theological Ethics from Boston College from 2002 to 2010.
