Steve Wilkinson has a varied and extensive work experience history. Steve started their career in 2000 as the South West Area Manager at Catch22, where they managed a prevention program for young people and secured funding for various projects. From 2010 to 2012, Steve worked as a Business Development Manager at Action for Children, managing services for children and young people with disabilities.
Steve then joined Dimensions UK as the Chief Operations Officer in 2012, where they managed service delivery for adults with complex needs and autism. Steve was responsible for operational aspects, contract management, and the development of delivery programs. Steve also managed the clinical team and led initiatives to register with regulatory bodies.
In 2013, Steve became the Operational Director at Wessex College. Steve then returned to Action for Children, where they served as the Head of Business Development and Residential Growth for England from 2015 to 2023. In this role, Steve led the BD team and oversaw national strategic business development activities.
Most recently, Steve took on the role of Director of Growth and Service Design (Maternity Cover) at Action for Children. Steve was responsible for strategic management, overseeing growth vehicles, and ensuring the delivery of the organization's Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) strategy.
Steve Wilkinson attended the University of Bristol from 1998 to 2000, where they studied Social Work. Steve then attended Swansea University from 1989 to 1992 and obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology. In addition, they obtained a Post Grad Cert in Leadership and Management in Health and Social Care from Bournemouth University. Steve also has certifications in Agile Project Management and a Graduate Certificate in Leadership and Management from Bournemouth University.
