Mike Perlmutter has worked in the inertial navigation field for over 30 years. He co-founded Fibersense Technology in 1994 as a friendly spin-off from the Northrop Corporation. Fibersense became one of the world’s leaders in advanced inertial navigation and stabilization technology. Fibersense was then re-acquired by the Northrop Grumman Corporation in 2002, after growning to 165 employees. Mike continued working for Northrop Grumman as a Director of Strategy and Planning until 2007. In 2007, Mike established Skylight Navigation and in 2012 he co-founded Civitanavi Navigation Systems with Andrea Pizzarulli. Mike is currently a Vice-President of Civitanavi Navigation and a Board Member of Sensonor AS, Acutronic Holding AG, and the Middlesex County Volunteers. He is also an active angel investor in the New England area and a partner in Converge Ventures Partners. He has three degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, has authored 17 patents, published papers, given lectures, and chaired conferences on various Navigation topics.
